Is it true that May 31st is officially MudUp Day for Puget Sound? —Impressed in Issaquah

It's official!

Well, Impressed, I hate to toot my own horn, but you're absolutely right about that. Governor Gregoire herself has signed an official proclamation stating that May 31st (today, in fact) is indeed MudUp Day for Puget Sound. This is really great news, because it officially marks the beginning of my journey home. Gov. Gregoire even mentioned me specifically in her proclamation, which really makes me blush. Who ever heard of official documents that talked about Mud Monsters before? This is indeed a watershed day (I make bad puns when I'm happy—sorry!) in my life, and in the life of my beloved Puget Sound. Oh, there will soon come a day when I can cavort about with the salmon and the orcas, and the waters will be pure again, and I will lie down in my eelgrass bed and squish my toes around in good clean mud. Tonight, May 31st of 2007, I will stare up at the full blue moon and imagine a clean and healthy Sound!
