Pop quiz: Puget Sound looks gorgeous--with its backdrop of glacier-capped mountains, pretty waters that serve as feeding grounds for killer whales and salmon, and iconic ferries that carry locals and impressed tourists from all over the world.

 So, is pretty Puget Sound healthy? Think hard. (Don't turn to a grown-up for a lifeline.) Seventy-five percent of local adults apparently would answer wrong, judging by results of a 2006 poll.)

 Answer: Lovely Puget Sound -- the waterway that brings us clothes and electronics on Asian barges, that nurtures seals and otters, whose shorelines provide summertime beach fun -- is...buzz, not healthy.
